COIMBATORE: A group of depositors in a chit fund today sought the intervention of the administration to get back around Rs 1.1 crore which they had invested in the firm during the last eight years.

In a memorandum to Collector Archana Patnaik, they said they had joined the chit fund some eight years ago and were paying the money on trust as it claimed to be a Government approved one.

The chit fund owner had failed to return the matured money and was missing since the last few days, they claimed.

A total of 117 persons had deposited Rs 1.1 crore in the chit fund,the memorandum said and requested the administration to intervene and take steps to get back their money.
