Department of space advised not to file review plea in Devas case
NEW DELHI: The law ministry has advised the department of space (DoS) against filing a review petition of the Supreme Court's judgement allowing Devas Multimedia to invoke arbitration proceedings against Antarix Corporation at the International Court (ICC) of Arbitration in London.

Even as the law ministry has given a go ahead to Antarix to participate in the ICC proceedings it has sought the opinion of the solicitor general on these matters.

The opinion comes after the DoS shot a letter to the law ministry seeking opinion over a review of the Supreme Court's May order dismissing, ISRO's commercial arm, Antarix Corporation's plea, for arbitration of dispute with Devas Multimedia regarding S-band spectrum allocation in India.

"Ministry of law and justice is requested to obtain the advise of the solicitor general on; whether a review petition could be filed...Whether Antarix could participate in the ICC proceedings...Draft response to be sent to the presiding arbitrator appointed in the ICC," the DoS had written to the law ministry, a copy of the communication was reviewed by ET.
