Dengue cases: 200 beds set up at Northwest Delhi hospital
With medical facilities wilting under the rush of dengue patients, AAP government today opened 200-bed facilities at a hospital in Northwest Delhi's Ashok Vihar area to treat patients suffering from the vector-borne disease.

The partially functional Deep Chand Bandhu hospital had no bed capacity until now and was providing basic health services.

Beds were introduced in view of the government's recent move to add 1,000 similar units. Health Minister Satyendra Jain had directed that the new beds be urgently bought to accommodate dengue patients at government hospitals.

"200 beded new Deep Chand Bandhu hospital at Ashok Vihar opened for Dengue/fever patients today," Jain tweeted.

400 more beds would be set up by Sunday at two more hospitals at Janakpuri and Tahirpur areas which are also nearing completion.

According to the government, out of 2,519 people admitted in 34 hospitals across the city with fever and related complaints in the last 24 hours, 281 were cases of dengue.
