Demolition of Sheds: Vijayan politicising it, fearing defeat for LDF in Kerala, says Shivakumar
Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar accused Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan of politicizing an eviction drive in Bengaluru. Shivakumar stated Vijayan is exploiting the issue for electoral gain in Kerala, fearing LDF defeat. He emphasized the eviction was...

Shivakumar, who spoke to the media after visiting Kogilu where the authorities razed unauthorized sheds, last week, said the operation was conducted at a site allotted for dumping solid waste. But Vijayan, instead of getting full facts of the issue, politicised it to win over the sympathy of minorities, keeping an eye on the elections.
The Dy CM also sought to tell Vijayan that it was a local issue Vijayan would do well to stay off.
The eviction drive by the government has created a political crisis of sorts for the Siddaramaiah regime as most of the displaced at Fakir colony and Waseem layout were Muslims.
Kerala CM was the first to attack the state’s Congress regime on Saturday by calling the demolition of sheds as “Bulldozer Raj,” a reference Congress used to target the BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh. “Sadly, the Sangh Parivar’s anti-minority politics is now being executed under a Congress Government in Karnataka,” Vijayan said in a post on X.
AICC general secretary (organization) KC Venugopal conveyed the party’s concerns while asking the government to rehabilitate the affected families.
