Hi-tech Japanese machines
60 machines of Delhi Jal Board, including 10 hi-tech Japanese machines, have been deployed as part of the sanitisation drive under "Operation SHIELD".
The machines from Japan are flexible as its length is adjustable, which is making it easier to properly sanitize narrow lanes. Ppm sodium hypochlorite solution has been used for the sanitisation drive.
According to the World Health Organisation's sanitisation guideline, sodium hypochlorite at 0.5% (equivalent to 5000 ppm) is recommended for disinfecting surfaces. The guideline says that effective inactivation of the highly contagious coronavirus could be achieved within a minute using sodium hypochlorite, a common disinfectant.
