Delhi RTOs go digital, won't entertain any paper applications

Now one has to take a online appointment first if he or she feels there is a need to visit the RTO.

There are 13 RTOs in Delhi.
Starting today, the regional transport offices or RTOs in Delhi will not entertain any paper based application as all sorts of transport services have gone digital from October 1 in the national capital.

So from now on all types of transport related services like a driving licence to transferring a registration certificate can be done online. And now one has to take a online appointment first if he or she feels there is a need to visit the RTO.

For those without internet access can approach the helpdesks at the RTOs which will charge Rs 60 for filling and completing the forms.


Services like learners’ and permanent driving licences, renewal and duplicate driving licence, change of address in the licence, change of address and duplicate registration certificate, transfer of vehicle ownership, issuance of NOC and hypothecation addition and termination, can all be availed online.

The move would help curb overcrowding and touts at RTOs, Times of India quoted a transport department official as saying.
