Delhi polls: PM Modi slams AAP's 'black money operations at midnight'; says 'Mr Clean' stands exposed

NEW DELHI: Slamming Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP) for allegedly accepting funds from 'dubious companies', Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said, "Can Delhi function on the basis of such lie & fraud? Those who claim to have a list of black money holders are feigning ignorance about the source of this money. How is it possible?"

Stating that the 'black money operations at midnight' now stand exposed, Modi in an indirect dig at Kejriwal said, "AAP has betrayed the nation with its actions. Mr Clean now stands exposed."

Modi went on to hit out at both Congress and AAP for 'ruining Delhi'. "Congress ruined Delhi in 15 years, this temporary party (AAP) wasted one year," Modi said. "Congress keeps asking us why did brought ordinances. We brought ordinances so that e-rikshawaalas can be provided legal protection," Modi said.

Pitching Delhi as a potential world-class city, Modi said, "When the world looks at India, they first look at Delhi. With a view of Delhi they make a perception about India."

Hitting out at those who repeatedly raise the issue of price rise and inflation, Modi said, "Those who ask us about price rise, can I ask you what the price of a gas cylinder was in January 2014, and what is it in January 2015? One year ago a gas cylinder was sold at Rs 1240, today it is available at Rs 605."

"I want to resolve power problems in Delhi. By 2022, all the poor will have thei rown house," Modi went on to promise.
