Delhi polls: BJP's manifesto likely to have Kiran Bedi's stamp
NEW DELHI: BJP's manifesto for the assembly elections in Delhi will have former IPS officer and now the party's CM candidate, KiranBedi's stamp on it. Though the party has tasked Union science and technology minister and ChandniChowk MP Harsh Vadhan with the responsibility to prepare the manifesto, Bedi said that her plans for the city for the city will find mention in it in it.

Her entry into the party, especially in Delhi politics, damaged the prospects of many candidates for the CM's post. This, clubbed with her style of functioning, has led to resentment among party members and workers. When asked about it, she said, "There is nothing like this. All of them are very happy. Now, I'm not Kiran Bedi, but Kiran didi for them."

Long before she was named as the party's CM candidate, she said she was ready to take on the challenge. "The decision has to be taken by the %parliamentary board. I see myself giving more to Delhi. I have been working as a social worker. Now, the scope of my work has increased. Now, entire Delhi is my family," she said. Asked whether she was ready for the top job, Bedi said, "Yes, I am.

Kiran Bedi has been stressing on her 6P (parents, politicians, police, prosecution, prison and press) and 6S (suraksha, swachhata, sakshar, saksham, sanskari and sab ki dilli) plan to make Delhi a safe and developed city. When asked whether her "action plan", which she plans to implement soon after BJP forms the government, will find mention in the party's election document, she said, "Why would it not? These are crucial points for the safety of the people living in the city."

"I'll have to sit down with Dr Harsh Vardhan (to discuss the manifesto)," said Bedi. The manifesto committee has held several meetings and is about to finalize the document. Sources say so far there is no plan to discuss it with Bedi, who is likely to be projected as the party's chief ministerial candidate. "We have held consultations with various groups to get their suggestions. She too can make suggestions. But the final document will be prepared by the committee,'' said a BJP member.

Apart from her action plan, she stressed on the need to regularize unauthorised colonies. Praising the government's decision on this and its resolve to make Delhi slum-free, Bedi said: "I'll not let anybody be without a home. We guarantee protection to all. If the houses have come up on government land, we will have to find an alternative."

As for reports of Anna Hazare not speaking to her because he is upset, Bedi said, "I'm not able to get through to him. If I get to speak to him, I'll explain my decision to join the BJP. I'm sure he will bless me."
