Delhi Polls: AAP checks poll roll for false name
NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP) is verifying all 3.62 lakh names added to Delhi's voter list after October 15, 2014 for false entries, after it was discovered that several names had been deleted. Party candidates sent messages to voters on Tuesday, asking them to check their names in the lists and to ensure that they re-apply by Wednesday. However, lists have been frozen and no changes can be made for the upcoming polls.

Party sources claimed that around 2 lakh names have been deleted from across Delhi. "We raised this matter after many of our supporters found their names missing from the electoral lists. It is the right of every individual to vote and we are alerting people that their names could be missing. The additions are equally suspicious. Of course, not all additions are fake but we are going through the list with a fine toothed comb to ensure that duplication does not happen," said a party source.

Based on its survey, AAP has found 6,375 additions in Babarpur, 7,674 in Mustafabad, 12,474 in Badarpur, 6,548 in Rajinder Nagar, 13,697 in Matiala and 12,334 in Vikaspuri.
