Delhi polls 2015: Post Republic Day, Kiran Bedi mocks Arvind Kejriwal

NEW DELHI: BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi, who attended the Republic Day celebrations on Monday, mocked AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal for "playing sob sob" over not being invited. Bedi was seen seated in the VIP enclosure. AAP, however, accused the government of "politicizing" the occasion by not inviting Kejriwal.

Bedi told a TV channel, "I think he is playing sob sob and must grow up. Invitations are never demanded and come by rules and protocols."

Asking why Bedi was given a seat in the front row , AAP functionary Yogendra Yadav said, "It is for the country to see what is being done. How a sacred occasion like Republic Day is being politicized. Even the cameras were repeatedly focusing on her. I hope EC was watching."

"Kiran Bedi is invited/given front row. Arvind was not even extended invitation. Politics even on this pious day? Shame," AAP member Ashutosh tweeted.

Meanwhile, a defence ministry official said that Kejriwal was not invited because he did not ask for it. "Former chief ministers, ex-parliamentarians and former bureaucrats are supposed to write to the ministry of defence for the invitation," the official said.
