Delhi polls 2015: BJP trying to use Obama visit to gain political mileage, says AAP

NEW DELHI: AAP leader Kumar Vishwas today charged that BJP was trying to politicise US President Barack Obama's visit to India with a view to deriving mileage from it ahead of the upcoming Delhi polls.

"Obama's trip to India should not be politicised. Posters of Modi and Obama embracing other each have been put up in Rajiv Babbar's constituency (Tilak Nagar).

"Such bad days have come for BJP... till now they had no leader at Delhi level who could match (AAP convener Arvind) Kejriwal, but now it seems that they don't have a leader even at the national level who can match up to him," Vishwas said during a rally at Karol Bagh.

He also claimed that there was an "internal rift" within BJP as some party leaders were "disappointed" over Bedi's anointment as its chief ministerial candidate.

He further remarked that the saffron outfit was "scared" of Kejriwal, which is why its chief ministerial candidate was declared days before the polls.

Hitting out at his former anti-graft comrade Bedi, Vishwas reminded her of her words during the anti-corruption campaign days and said, "She had said that those parties which won't fall under the purview of RTI, which do not disclose their funds, those with criminal backgrounds and who do not make CBI independent, should not be given votes.

"Then why is she campaigning for a party which has not done any of the above?" Vishwas asked.

Also, in a veiled attack on Modi, he said, "There was one prime minister who never spoke for 10 years and there is another now who doesn't stop talking."
