Delhi polls 2015: AAP survey shows it's ahead of BJP in terms of voteshare

NEW DELHI: An AAP internal survey of Delhi electorate conducted after Kiran Bedi’s nomination as BJP’s CM candidate has shown that it is ahead of BJP by 6-8 percentage points in terms of voteshare, which could win as many as 50 seats for the Arvind Kejriwal-led party in the February 7 polls. The survey, as per party leader Yogendra Yadav, was done by a professional agency run by an AAP supporter and covered 3,500 voters spread over 35 constituencies. “In a two-party contest when one party is leading by 4-5 percentage points then that results in a landslide victory. This Delhi election has all the symptoms of a wave election,” he told ET.

An ABP News-Nielsen survey last week had found AAP making gains over BJP after Bedi was roped in as the latter’s CM candidate, while an India TV/C-Voter poll predicted simple majority for BJP. BJP chief Amit Shah had told ET on Friday his party will easily win a simple majority and the effort was to get a 2/3rds majority.
