Delhi polls 2015: A 'government of dharnas' will stall Delhi's development: BJP chief Amit Shah
NEW DELHI: Hitting out at Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party, BJP Chief Amit Shah today asked people of Delhi not to choose a "government of dharnas" else the Centre would not be able to develop the national capital.

Shah said the whole city will be developed on the pattern of New Delhi once BJP comes to power.

"If Modiji wants to develop the city, people should cooperate with him. People should not choose a government of dharnas else the central government will not be able to do any development work," Shah said while addressing a rally in Shahdara of East Delhi.

He said the party will bring ordinance to "legalise" unauthorised colonies and "if a government stages protest, it will not be possible".

"We want to solve the problem of traffic and give pucca house to every slum deweller at the same place where they are presently living... and if a government, which stages protest, comes to power, will this work be possible.... and even safety of women cannot be ensured," he said.

The BJP president said that the "lies" of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal have been "exposed" and people have to choose between him and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whom India's prestige had "risen globally".

"Under the leadership of Modiji, India is progressing well and the whole world now has faith that under Modi's leadership, 21th century will belong to India. People have to decide whether they want the party of Modi or the leadership of a man who lies," Shah said.

Shah claimed wherever BJP wins election, other political parties do not get a chance to form government again.

"BJP has a record wherever it wins, other political parties have not got chance to form government again. Once the people of Gujarat have elected BJP and thereafter, we have won five elections there. And a similar situation is in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh where we are continuously winning elections," Shah added.

The BJP president listed what he called the "lies" of Kejriwal, saying th AAP used to say that he would not take support of either BJP or Congress, but "whatever happened is known to everyone".

"He (Kejriwal) would also say that they would not adopt a VIP culture, but they go to Dubai in executive class to collect donation...his lies have now been exposed," Shah said.

Attacking Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, he said, "Rahul Gandhiji said that earlier there was firing across the border and there is firing still... there has been no change... Rahul Gandhi ji won't see the change as he is wearing Italian spectacles."

Shah also hit out at the Congress, claiming "there were more than 40 scams running into Rs 40 lakh crore" during the party's rule while in the past eight months of the Modi government, there has been no scam.
