Delhi poll results: AAP not sure if BJP should get opposition leader’s post
NEW DELHI: With only three seats with the opposition party in Delhi Assembly, it is still not clear whether Aam Aadmi Party will offer the post of leader of opposition to BJP.

On Thursday, Patparganj MLA Manish Sisodia said the party had not taken a decision and would think about it later. "Let BJP ask for it at least. We have not taken any decision on this matter," he said, suggesting that at least 10 per cent of the seats should be occupied by the opposition to qualify for LOP.

Constitutional experts suggest that the law has a provision wherein LOP can be given to the leader of the opposition party, irrespective of how many seats they have.

Senior BJP member and Rohini MLA Vijender Gupta said that they had no plans of making any such proposal to AAP but would in stead follow what ever the law said on the matter.

Senior AAP member Kumar Vishwas had tweeted on February 10, the day assembly results were declared, that "Even if BJP gets less than seven seats, we will give LOP to BJP."
