Delhi Police concerned over health of AAP MLA Somnath Bharti's dog
Among those concerned about his health is Delhi Police which offered a vehicle and a constable to take the ageing dog to a vet on Friday evening.

Sources in Bharti's office said that the dog had been ailing for some time and office workers had been taking care of him. "We have been looking after Don since Bharti has been missing. Don recognizes all of us and is content here. We are feeding him regularly.
He has been coughing because of which we took him to the vet some time back. I am, however, not sure whether someone was administering him medicines or not. On Friday, after concerns were raised about Don's health in Bharti's absence, Dwarka north SHO called me up and asked me to take Don to a vet. He also sent a vehicle and constable to accompany Don," said a worker in Bharti's office.
Police officers said they had seen that the dog was really unwell and had informed AAP workers about it. "We offered a vehicle because they didn't have any," they said. According to workers at Bharti's office, Don's vet has recommended that he shouldn't be moved around too much because he has a serious heart condition. He has also said that Don may not survive for long because of his ailment.
Meanwhile, animal rights activists have also offered help. Sonya Ghosh, an activist, messaged Bharti on Friday offering to put his dog in boarding. Other activists said it may not be a good idea to take the dog away when his keepers are around.
Don has been accused of biting Bharti's wife when she was pregnant. Mitra accused Bharti of making Don attcak her during a fight. On her complaint, charges of attempt to murder and foeticide were filed against Bharti, because of which he is absconding.
