Delhi Police on Thursday claimed to have cracked a fake visa racket in the capital with the arrest of four persons who allegedly duped people aspiring to go abroad.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Thursday claimed to have cracked a fake visa racket in the capital with the arrest of four persons who allegedly duped people aspiring to go abroad.
The gang allegedly ran the racket in the garb of a travel agency and they provided fake visas to prospective candidates after receiving a hefty payment, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Alok Kumar said.
They also tampered with the passports of the candidates to prepare supporting travel documents.
The arrested were identified as Nakul Kohli, the alleged kingpin, Javed Khan, Naveen Malhotra and Prateek Sharma, the official said.
Kohli and Khan were caught from Defence Colony in south Delhi last evening following a tip off, Kumar said adding four tampered passports and two fake visas of Schengen were recovered from them.
A search was also conducted at their office in Gautam Nagar from where 30 passports, 15 fake visa stickers, four work permits and 39 fake work permits were recovered. Malhotra was arrested from here.
Another raid was conducted at their Laxmi Nagar office from where Sharma was caught besides the recovery of five passports and four fake visa stickers.
The four accused were today produced before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kanwaljeet Arora, who sent them to two days police custody.
