Ruling BJP launched its campaign song 'BJP ka Matlab Sewa Hai' for the Delhi local bodies elections today. The saffron party has highlighted the performance of Narendra Modi government and the Delhi corporation during Covid pandemic in the song. It has also hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party in the campaign song.

Launching the campaign song, the party's Delhi unit chief Adesh Gupta said that it narrates the "reality of Delhi" and the BJP's "victory" for the MCD polls. The song is voiced by the party MP Manoj Tiwari.

The song's opening line "BJP ka matlab sewa hai" is followed by how the Modi government at the Centre "served people during the pandemic, providing them with food and saving them by coming out with vaccines".


It also mentioned the efforts of the erstwhile BJP-ruled municipal corporations to remove garbage collection points in residential areas and lowering the heights of landfill sites. The song also narrates how the Modi government worked for Delhi' development, including expansion of the Metro network and construction of a tunnel near Pragati Maidan.

Through the song, the BJP also accuses the government of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of turning the Yamuna into a "drain" and converting Delhi into a "gas chamber".

It also claimed that had the three BJP-ruled municipal corporations not been there, the AAP government would have opened liquor shops in every street.

Tiwari said the main theme of the song "Sewa hi Vichar, Nahi Khokhle Prachar" (service is ideology, not hollow publicity) is the view expressed by BJP President JP Nadda.

Meanwhile, tThe Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also launched its theme song today. The song, 'MCD mein bhi Kejriwal' (Kejriwal in MCD as well), is sung by the party's Timarpur MLA Dilip Pandey.

Commenting after the launch, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said: "The 'Kejriwal in MCD' slogan is resonating everywhere and this is reflected in the song."

"People are saying that we gave an opportunity to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and he ensured that we got good government schools, hospitals, free bus rides for women in DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) buses and the government has been working with honesty," Sisodia added.

Few months back, Centre had merged back the four corporation into one. The 250-ward Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) goes to polls on December 4 while the results will be declared on December 7.
