Delhi High Court blast: Another victim succumbs, toll goes up to 14

34-year-old Mridul Bakshi, a victim of the Delhi High Court blast succumbed to his injuries at a hospital, taking the toll in the September 7 terror attack to 14.

NEW DELHI: Admitted with intestine jutting out of the abdomen and pellets embedded all over the body, 34-year-old Mridul Bakshi, a victim of the Delhi High Court blast, on Thursday succumbed to his injuries at a hospital here, taking the toll in the September 7 terror attack to 14.

Doctors said Bakshi had suffered multiple injuries on his head, chest, hands, legs and abdomen.

A doctor with the Trauma ICU at the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital where Bakshi was admitted said, "Bakshi was brought to us unconscious and seriously injured on September 7. He died today (Thursday) at around 4 am. We were aghast to see his wounds when he was brought to the hospital. His skull was broken, his hands, legs and chest, all had injuries and was bleeding. His intestine was sticking out of the abdomen." He was a resident of Uttam Nagar in west Delhi.
