NEW DELHI: Adulterated food and spurious medicines are a "serious threat" to people's lives and the government will launch a campaign against such adulteration across the national capital, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said.

Kejriwal, who launched " Mission Indradhanush Kavach" at Majnu-ka-tilla of North Delhi under which children would be vaccinated free of cost, said government will not spare any person found involved in adulteration.

"In Delhi, there is a lot of adulteration in eatables due to which most people suffer from several diseases. Food adulteration for profit is the biggest sin and even God will not spare them. Government will now run a campaign against these persons and catch them," he said here.

Taking a serious note of adulteration in drugs, the Delhi CM said government will not also spare those who are found involved in such crime.

He also promised to build houses for those living in 'jhuggi-jhopris', saying that government will not throw out anybody from the houses.

" Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had met DDA vice-chairman and asked him to give us five years only. We will build houses for juggi-jhopdi dwellers at the site and nobody will be thrown out from the houses," he said.

Speaking on "Mission Indradhanush Kavach", Kejriwal said 80 per cent of children in Delhi have been vaccinated and 20 per cent children are yet to be vaccinated, but in jhuggis and re-settlements colonies, only 40 per cent of children have been vaccinated so far.

"60 per cent children, who belong to poor families, have not been vaccinated so far. Under the new campaign, government will administer seven vaccines to the children at different periods against 11 diseases free of cost.

"The campaign will run from the dates of 7 to 14 every month for one year," he also said.
