NEW DELHI: Delhi government today sanctioned Rs 116 crore for construction of a new block of the High Court at Bapa Nagar here.

The sanction was given in a meeting of the Cabinet of Delhi government chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, said a senior government official.

The new building, to be called Block-S, will be constructed on 2.74 acres of land at Bapa Nagar, Zakir Hussain Marg, as proposed by the Building Maintenance and Construction Committee(BMCC) of Delhi High Court, he said.

Delhi government's share out of the total estimated cost of the construction project of Rs 166 crore was fixed at 70 per cent. Central government will provide the remaining 30 per cent i.e. Rs 49.90 crore, the official added.
