NEW DELHI: Delhi government today offered a job of assistant manager to the sister of TV journalist Akshay Singh, who had died mysteriously while covering stories on the Vyapam scam.

Pakshi Singh has been offered the post of assistant manager (legal) with the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), a government official said.

"Pakshi has been offered the post of legal assistant manager in DSIIDC in the Pay Brand-2 of Rs 5200-20200+2400 (Grade Pay) plus allowance," the official said.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had on July 8 visited Akshay Singh's Mayur Vihar residence and offered a government job to her sister even as they also demanded an independent probe into the circumstances leading to the scribe's death in Bhopal.

After meeting Singh's family members, Sisodia had said, "The whole family is in a state of shock. They have lost their young son who was the only earning member of their family. We have offered them full financial assistance and a job for his sister soon which they need at this point."

Akshay Singh had died mysteriously on June 4 after interviewing parents of a girl who was found dead after her name figured in the massive admission and recruitment scandal in Madhya Pradesh (Vyapam).
