NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said the government is contemplating constructing elevated bus rapid transit ( BRT) corridors to decongest the capital's roads.

He said the government will make two-tier elevated roads -- one dedicated for the BRT and the second for an expressway.

"Government is planning to construct two-tier elevated roads, one for the BRT corridor and other for the expressway to facilitate motorists," Kejriwal told reporters here.

A senior government official said that buses will be allowed on the BRT corridor while cars and others vehicles will ply on the expressway.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal said the second phase of the odd-even vehicle rationing scheme will be implemented in the city from April 15 to 30 and women, VIPs and two-wheelers will remain exempted from the restrictions.

Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said as per the feedback received by the government, an overwhelming majority of the respondents were in favour of re-implementation of the scheme.
