Delhi government issues orders barring parking of cars as per odd-even scheme
According to a senior official, if parking agencies are found flouting government's directives, strict action will be taken against them.

“The Department of Transport, Government of National Capital of Delhi has issued orders prohibiting the parking of odd number non-transport four wheeled vehicles (motor cars, etc.) on even dates, and even number nontransport four wheeled vehicles (motor cars, etc.) on odd days from January 1, 2016 to January 15, 2016.
The odd numbered non-transport four wheeled vehicles (motor cars, etc.) would be allowed to park only on odd dates and similarly, the even numbered nontransport four wheeled vehicles (motor cars, etc.) would be allowed to park on even dates only,” a statement issued by the Aam Aadmi Party government said.
The notification regarding odd and even scheme, which was issued on Monday, did not mention the aspect of parking. A separate notification regarding parking has been sent by the Delhi government to DDA, NDMC, North MCD, South MCD, East MCD, PWD, DMRC, CEO Delhi Cantonment, Divisional Commissioner, Special Commissioner Traffic, Special Commissioner (Enforcement) Transport Department, Special Commissioner (Planning), among others.
Meanwile, Delhi Traffic police on Wednesday also imparted basic training to civil defence volunteers to manage the traffic during the implementation of odd even scheme starting from January 1.
Top officers from Delhi police also explained the detailed notification of Delhi government including the exempted vehicles.
The volunteers were also told to not misbehave with commuters and educate them on the scheme. The traffic police will also be present at 200 points where a dry run is being conducted oN December 31 between 9-11.
