Delhi gang rape case: Former CJI RC Lahoti condemns baton charge on protesters

Lahoti also said that Baba Ramdev was talking about bringing black money stashed in foreign banks but even this was not liked by rulers.

KHANDWA: Former Chief Justice of India, RC Lahoti has strongly condemned the lathi-charge and bursting of teargas shells on those students and youth who were agitating against the gang-rape in New Delhi.

"The agitation was historic in a sense and by using lathis and teargas shells against the agitators, the government had put a nail in its coffin," the former Chief Justice said while addressing a function here last night.

Also, Lahoti said those who were opposed to corruption were disliked by rulers and had to face repression.

He said that Baba Ramdev was talking about bringing black money stashed in foreign banks but even this was not liked by rulers.

"It appears that our rulers do not want black money to return to India," Lahoti said.
