Delhi gang rape case: DMK calls for stringent punishment to culprits
DMK has demanded stringent and deterrent penal action against those involved in the kidnap and rape of a 17-year-old girl on January 1.

A resolution adopted at a meeting of the local unit of the DMK here today said police had not acted quickly on a complaint from her parents that day when she was reported missing and their 'lethargy' had aggravated the situation.
Party's local unit convenor Dr M A S Subramanian said in a release that the party would hold a massive demonstration in front of the Assembly here on January 8 to condemn the lack of protection to women in Puducherry.
They would also seek stringent action against the two culprits (a bus conductor and an engineering college student) involved in the incident, he said.
