NEW DELHI: If Kiran Bedi becomes Delhi's chief minister, she will run a radio broadcast - Dilli Ki Baat - on the lines of PM Narendra Modi's Mann Ki Baat which is aired on All India Radio. BJP's chief ministerial candidate said on Thursday that the broadcast will be a monthly event where issues of public concern will be discussed and the government will share report on action taken by officials.

"Women security is of prime concern to me. If I become the CM, periodic review of all incidences will be done and accountability will be fixed. Through the radio programme, people will be told who is responsible and how issues will be addressed," said Bedi, while addressing a meet of booth in-charge and supporters at Yamuna Sports Complex in east Delhi. She reached the complex around 4pm despite the rains and said she would ensure more women join the party.

Bedi said, "When the Nirbhaya incident took place, the then Delhi CM ( Sheila Dikshit) expressed helplessness saying police was not under her control. But I have seen how Sahib Singh Verma (Delhi CM from BJP between 1996-98) and Tejendra Khanna (the then lieutenant governor) worked together to administer well. I will follow the latter to ensure better coordination between the two offices."

Earlier, Bedi took out a roadshow in her constituency Krishna Nagar at 7am, which culminated around 11.30am. Union minister Harsh Vardhan, who has been representing the constituency for over two decades, accompanied her.

People peeped out of their balconies and shops, while many women queued up near her entourage to get a glimpse.

However, the party workers' meet in Chandni Chowk was addressed by Harsh Vardhan, Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay and Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Goel. Amit Shah could not attend the meeting due to bad weather.

Goel called Kejriwal 'Jhooth ka Samundar' (an ocean of lies) while discussing the party's strategy to cut down electricity bills by 30%, focus on distribution of water supply and door-to-door campaign to win majority in the upcoming elections.
