Delhi Elections 2015: BJP's Kiran Bedi promises traders a 'business friendly' government

NEW DELHI: BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi today reached out to the trading community in Delhi and assured them of a "business friendly" government.

Addressing a group of traders in North West Delhi's Ashok Vihar, Bedi said Delhi had been getting a bad press which was affecting business.

"I've come to link the Centre with the state, because for the past year Delhi has been cut off and this has been making negative headlines everywhere. This affects business...," she said.

Appealing to the people to elect a BJP government with two-thirds majority, Bedi said, "Opposition will be there, should be there but they should be weak. We need a two-thirds majority so that we are able to amend laws and make changes. We will not be a government who goes to protest everyday."

She assured the gathering of her personal presence at meetings of the traders "with sales tax department, VAT officials" that she will "facilitate".

"When we'll form the government, I will facilitate meetings of the people of market associations and I will be personally present in these meetings. We'll record these meetings to keep as proof the promises made," she said.

Bedi's second rally of the day, which made its way through the narrow and congested by-lanes of Haiderpur, attracted a large number of crowd.

During the rally, Bedi made an effort to connect with the locals by striking up conversations with curious bystanders on the street, while assuring the women of ensuring their security.
