Delhi elections 2015: Arvind Kejriwal says he will mark one year of resignation with swearing-in
NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said his party's government will be sworn in on February 15, exactly a year after he resigned from the post of chief minister. Speaking at a rally in Rohtas Nagar constituency, a confident Kejriwal claimed AAP is way ahead of BJP in Delhi and will be declared winner on February 10.

Kejriwal had resigned on February 14 last year after tabling the Swaraj Bill in the assembly. This time, elections will be held in Delhi on February 7. "There is no doubt now that AAP is winning. Once the results are announced and we emerge victorious, AAP will take oath on February 15 to form a government in Delhi. I resigned last year as CM because Congress and BJP did not let us work. But this time, we will come back with a majority government,'' said Kejriwal to the thousands of residents of Rohtas Nagar constituency who had assembled to hear his speech.

The party has fielded Sarita Singh, president of its student wing—Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti—from the constituency. She replaces Mukesh Hooda, who fought the December 2013 polls on its ticket but lost to BJP's Jitender Kumar. Rohtas Nagar was a Congress bastion for two decades till 2013 when the party finished third. Sarita will contest her first assembly election. "We will make history in Rohtas Nagar.

I pledge that when AAP comes to power, it will be the most developed and urbanized constituency in the city. I challenge other parties that a simple girl will change the course of politics for a clean India," she said, adding, "I am a daughter of Rohtas Nagar and am committed to work in every nook and corner for its development. Other parties have money and spread rumours, but we have faith that we can change politics".

At the rally, Kejriwal repeated AAP's stock promises about cheaper power bills, free water, pucca houses for the poor, replacing 'fast' meters, reducing inflation etc. He made no reference to the print advertisement BJP issued on Friday showing a garlanded picture of Anna Hazare. He also did not attack BJP's CM candidate Kiran Bedi.
