Delhi court adjourns framing of charges in ED's land-for-job, IRCTC cases against Lalu Prasad Yadav

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Saturday adjourned the framing of charges against Lalu Prasad Yadav and others in the ED's land-for-job and IRCTC scam cases.

Special Judge Vishal Gogne adjourned the Enforcement Directorate (ED) land case to September 30 and the IRCTC matter to September 7.

On October 13 last year, the court framed charges of cheating, criminal conspiracy, and sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act against Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, and 11 others in a CBI case regarding the alleged IRCTC scam.

On January 9 this year, the court ordered framing of charges against the RJD chief and his family members and others in the CBI's land-for-job scam case.

The court observed that Yadav used the railway ministry as his personal fief and used the public employer as a bargaining chip to acquire land parcels in connivance with railway officials and his aides.

Charges were framed in the case against 41 persons, with 52, including railway officials and substitutes, who did not part with their land, discharged.
