Restructuring of the organisation in Delhi has begun and we will complete the process by formation of new Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) till December 15, Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said.
The DPCC, in a bid to focus on the people of Eastern UP (Poorvanchal), Uttarakhand and South Indian states living in Delhi, has constituted three functional organisations named as Delhi Pradesh Poorvanchal, Parvatiya and South Indian Congress, he said.
Congress also announced the chairmans of the three cells namely - Shivji Singh (Poorvanchal Division), Birjmohan Upreti (Parvatiya Division), and R Mani Naidu (South Indian), PC Chacko, AICC in-charge of Delhi unit, said.
Maken said that the new district presidents were directed to galvanise the workers to meet the challenge posed by Aam Adami Party and BJP in Delhi, in their respective areas. The block level party unit will also be reconstituted by the end of November.
The newly appointed district presidents are Surinder Kumar (Kirari district), Inderjit Singh (Rohini), Surinder Pal Singh Bitto (Karawal Nagar), Beesham Sharma (Babarpur), Sunil Vohra (Krishna Nagar), Lakshman Rawat (Patparganj), Harkishan Jindal (Adarsh Nagar), Mohammad Usman (Chandni Chowk), Madan Khorwal (Karol Bagh), Virender Kasana (New Delhi), Om Dutt Yadav (Najafgarh), Pradeep Sharma (Tilak Nagar), Rajesh Chauhan (Mehrauli) and Ram Singh Netaji (Badarapur).
The names of new district presidents have been approved by the Congress president Sonia Gandhi, AICC General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi said while releasing the list of names.
