Gandhinagar: While senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia has been camping in election-bound Gujarat since last Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann reached Gujarat on Sunday to campaign for the party.

Both the chief ministers held town hall meetings for the youth, contractual workers and cleaning workers of the state in various parts of Ahmedabad.

After landing in Ahmedabad, Kejriwal told the media that while the venue for his last programme in Vadodara was shifted 13 times due to pressure from the ruling party, someone dared to offer him a venue to hold his meeting.

"On Saturday, they reached that place with a bulldozer," Kejriwal alleged. "I am your political rival. Do what you want to do with me, but don't harass the common man," he added.

Speaking to the youth, Kejriwal stressed on the issues of employment and laid out plans for generating employment pointing out that the expansion of services would create more jobs. He reiterated his promise to provide Rs 3,000 as unemployment allowance to youths waiting to get jobs.

Addressing outsourcing and contractual workers, Kejriwal said various protests were taking place in the state. He said that while there were reports of the state government reaching out to the agitating groups, he asked them not to trust the government.

He asked the contractual workers to make use of social media and campaign for the party. He promised to regularise contractual employees if voted in to power apart from scrapping the system of contractual employment altogether. He also promised equal pay for equal work and equal opportunities.

Later, they met cleaning workers at a separate meeting. Meanwhile, Manish Sisodia held a roadshow and a public meeting in Diyodar, Banaskantha district in North Gujarat.
