NEW DELHI: BJP today accused ruling AAP of protecting its "tainted" MLAs and officials and mocked Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal saying he should be awarded with "U-Turn" of the year award as he has always claimed to be against corruption.

"If there are certain complaints against the officials and that too for a longer period. There were complaints against him ( Rajendra Kumar) in 2012, in 2014, RTI queries have revealed the same then if CBI enquires, why is he (Kejriwal) so baffled? His fight is against corruption only no?," Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay told reporters.

"His MLAs are tainted, officials are corrupt but what is the kind of protection he is offering to them? His (Kejriwal) body language, vocabulary reflects he is baffled. But why? If there has to be a lawyer of the year award or U-turn of the year award, it should go to him," Upadhyay added.

Upadhyay's comments come in wake of fresh allegations made by the Chief Minister today against the CBI, accusing it of seizing documents "unrelated" to the agency's probe against his Principal Secretary and claimed that a file relating to DDCA was scrutinised by it.

Kejriwal also launched a fresh attack on Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, saying he had "misled" Parliament by saying that the CBI did not raid the Chief Minister's office.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh termed the Chief Minister's comments as condemnable and shameful.

"The kind of vocabulary he has used is condemnable and shameful. CBI is an autonomous body, Central Govt does not interfere with its functioning at all," he said.

Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu said AAP should not be worried and let the CBI do its duty.

"A party who says they are against corruption is worried and want to stall the parliament. We have nothing to hide and worry as the government (Centre) is nowhere in the picture. And then an AAP functionary himself has filed this complaint, what to they have to say about this?

"Let the enquiry be over. Why are they worried? CBI is doing its duty, nobody should put any obstacles and let it conduct its duty and responsibility," he said.

The office of Kejriwal's Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar was raided by CBI yesterday in a corruption case triggering a fresh face-off between the AAP and Centre and a vicious political slug fest in which the AAP chief lashed out against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kejriwal claimed his office was raided which was denied by CBI as well as the Finance Minister in Rajya Sabha where the opposition created an uproar.

The chief minister claimed he was in fact the target and that Kumar was just an excuse.
