Delhi car blast: Delhi Police, not NIA, to Probe

NEW DELHI: The home ministry has ruled out handing over the probe into the blast in an Israeli embassy car to the National Investigation Agency ( NIA).

"The Delhi Police is wellequipped and fully capable of carrying out the probe into Monday's terror blast.

They have done some very good work over the last couple of months," a senior MHA official pointed out in an apparent reference to the recent busting of an Indian Mujahideen module, which was behind a series of terror strikes including the 13/7 Mumbai serial blasts, Jama Masjid blast, Pune's German Bakery blasts and the Chinnaswamy stadium blast in Bangalore.
