Delhi Cabinet meeting: From Ayushman Bharat implementation to portfolios allotment, key takeaways
After chairing the first Cabinet meeting on Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the distribution of portfolios among her ministers.

Who Handles What?

  • Rekha Gupta (CM) – She will oversee key departments, including General Administration, Finance, Revenue, Women & Child Development, Land & Building, Vigilance, Planning, and Information & Public Relations. She will also handle any department not assigned to other ministers.
  • Ashish Sood – He will be responsible for Home, Power, Urban Development, Education & Higher Education, and Training & Technical Education.
  • Parvesh Verma – He will manage PWD, Legislative Affairs, Water, Irrigation & Flood Control, and Gurdwara Elections.
  • Pankaj Singh – He will oversee Health, Transport, and IT.
  • Ravinder Indraj Singh – He will handle Social Welfare and SC & ST Welfare.
  • Kapil Mishra – He will be in charge of Law & Justice and Labour.
During the meeting, CM Rekha Gupta shared key decisions taken by her government.

Delhi Cabinet's First Big Move

"In the first Cabinet meeting, we discussed and passed two agendas – to implement in Delhi the Ayushman Bharat scheme with Rs 5 lakh top-up and tabling of 14 CAG reports in the first seating of the Assembly," she said.


Rekha Gupta Takes Oath as Delhi’s Ninth Chief Minister

Earlier, Rekha Gupta took oath as the ninth Chief Minister of Delhi at the historic Ramlila Maidan in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several NDA leaders and Chief Ministers.

The event was attended by leaders such as Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, Devendra Fadnavis, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and many more.

Speaking to ANI after taking oath as the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta expressed gratitude to the people of Delhi.

"Thank you, Delhi. I thank BJP, and I am grateful for the blessings of all of you," she said.

Other Ministers Take Oath

Along with Rekha Gupta, Parvesh Verma, who defeated AAP leader and former CM Arvind Kejriwal, also took oath as a Cabinet Minister. Other ministers sworn in were:
  • Manjinder Singh Sirsa
  • Ashish Sood
  • Pankaj Kumar Singh
  • Kapil Mishra
  • Ravinder Indraj Singh
The BJP’s top leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, were present at the event.

With the Cabinet now in place, the new Delhi government has started work under Rekha Gupta’s leadership.
