The sender is a 17-18 year old boy, the sketch has been prepared on the information provided by five detained persons.
JAMMU: A day after picking up five persons for questioning, police have prepared a sketch of the suspected email sender from Kishtwar district and launched operations today to track him down.
As per the description provided by the detained persons including the cyber cafe owner, the sender is a 17-18 year old boy, and the police is hopeful of tracing the suspect soon.
"We are hopeful of catching the suspect soon", Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda, said.
Police said the sketch of the suspect has been prepared on the basis of information provided by five detained persons including cyber cafe owner Masood Aziz during day-long interrogation in Kishtwar district by a team led by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Kishtwar-Doda-Ramban range, Muneesh Sinha.
The sketch is likely to be released by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which has been tasked with probing the Delhi blast in which 12 persons were killed on Wednesday.
Besides the cafe owner, the other detained persons have been identified as the shop owner's brother Majid and their servant Ashwani besides Imran and Ashiq Hussain.
Imran and Ashiq were using computer terminals in two other cabins at the time when the email was sent from another terminal adjacent to them, police said.
A team of NIA and experts from Hyderabad are in Kishtwar to probe the email link with the Delhi blast.
The cafe has been sealed and policemen in plainclothes have been deputed outside the shop in Kishtwar town.
"We own responsibility of the blast at the High Court, Delhi. Our demand is that Afzal Guru's death sentence should be repealed immediately as we would target major High Courts and the Supreme Court of India," the HuJI email had said.
Delhi Police has in the past arrested several HuJI militants from the national capital.
Kishtwar was once the hub of the Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami (HUJI), but in the past some years there has been no activity of the outfit in the area.
