Delhi blast: Police preparing sketches of suspected bombers

Officials have hinted that the person who planted the bomb, hidden in a briefcase, could be among the dead or injured.


NEW DELHI: Delhi Police said Wednesday that after speaking to eyewitnesses they are preparing sketches of two suspects involved in planting a bomb at the Delhi High Court in the morning.

The bombing killed 11 people and left 76 injured.

"We are preparing sketches of the accused. We spoke to several eye witnesses and the injured people. We would be releasing the sketches soon," a police official said.

The official also hinted that the person who planted the bomb, hidden in a briefcase, could be among the dead or injured.

Police said the bomb was placed in a briefcase that measured 1.25 feet x one foot.

Investigations so far have shown that an improvised explosive device containing ammonium nitrate and shrapnel was kept in the briefcase.

Police also said there was no detonator in the briefcase so the bomber must have been nearby.
