Delhi BJP woos youth under new banner ahead of polls
Delhi BJP has set up a separate organisation 'Lotus Youth Power' aiming to bring in one lakh young men and women in social activities.

"Lotus Youth Power is an organisation for those young people who may not want to join politics but are interested in social and cultural activities. At the initiative of BJP state unit, this organisation will try to groom the talent of our young men and women," said BJP state chief Vijay Goel at a press conference here today.
"Our aim is to approach about one lakh young persons in Delhi. These shall be the youth who use social media. So far 10 thousand youth have been enrolled as members of the organisation. Its membership is open for all the youth in Delhi. The online membership enrolment will be started soon," he said.
Delving into the details of the organisation, Goel said that various cultural and musical programmes will be organised for these youths from time to time. Similarly those who are interested in sports and other activities shall also be enrolled as members in due course of time.
"The party has decided to grant 100 scholarships of Rs 1000 each to deserving youth in the field of music, arts and dance. A corpus fund of Rs 10 lakh has been created for the same," he said.
The details of youths who enrol as members of ' Lotus Youth Power' will be processed and they shall be issued an identity card for which a processing fee of Rs 50 has been prescribed. Active involvement in politics is not essential for such members, he said.
