Delhi BJP urges Centre to launch night taxi service for women
BJP has formed a committee to look into problems of women & also take suggestions on security of women & ensure implementation by Delhi Police & Govt.

The party's move comes after the rape of woman executive by a driver of Uber, a US-based cab services.
"We have urged the Central Government that the Delhi Government should start night taxi service (from 9 pm to 6 am) for women through women helpline by utilising Nirbhaya fund established this year," Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said in a statement.
Attacking the chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women Barkha Singh, Upadhyay said due to "failure" of the DCW to discharge its duties, issues regarding women are raised only when a critical incident happens and no serious action is taken afterwards.
"It is irony that the chairperson of DCW is such a person who enjoys the benefits of the post but does not fight for the issues of women safety," he said.
According to the party, it has formed a committee to look into the problems of women and also take the suggestions on the security of women and ensure implementation by Delhi Police and Government.
"It will also hear the bad experiences of working women in various areas of the national capital on Saturday and Sunday and apprise the government about these issues," Upadhyay added.
Slamming Congress, the Delhi BJP president also asked the party to tell the people steps taken by its former MLA and DCW chairperson Barkha Singh for the security of women.
