Delhi BJP slams CM Arvind Kejriwal for 'politics' over infant's death
NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP today hit out at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for "indulging in politics" over death of the seven-month-old infant, who died allegedly during demolition of a slum cluster in west Delhi's Shakur Basti.

"Politics over death of an infant is not the culture of Delhi," state BJP president Satish Upadhyay said, attacking Kejriwal.

Stating that it was time to help the slum cluster's evicted inhabitants instead of indulging in politics, he said "there are four years left for politics."

Targeting the Chief Minister, Upadhyay said "he has a particular way of appearing on channels and show himself as a well wisher. For the past one year his government did nothing to settle the slum dwellers although 5000 houses are ready."

"The Delhi government may seek a reply from Railways over the demolition and BJP has nothing to do with it," he said.

"We are doing what needs to be done by supplying food, blankets and other necessary items to the slum dwellers, besides a team of MCD and its ambulance has been sent there," he said.

The Delhi government also need to help them by providing the facilities of food, drinking water, night shelters and offering them residential facilities, the BJP leader said.
