A team of British MPs of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association are on a three-day visit to to discuss progress of programmes in rural areas.

BHOPAL: A team of British MPs of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association are on a three-day visit to Madhya Pradesh.

The delegation of British MPs, which arrived yestereday met Panchayats, Rural Development and Social Justice Minister Gopal Bhargava at his residence, an official release said today.

They discussed progress of programmes and schemes under implementation in state's rural areas with the financial cooperation of British Government's Department of International Development (DFID).

Led by Liam Byrne, the delegation of British MPs comprises Baroness Blackstone, Sarvshri Simon Burns, Stephen Hepburn, Baroness Manzoor, Baroness Northever, Virendra Sharma and Dr Roberta Blackman-Woods. The team also comprises senior officers of British government and officers deployed at DfID's Indian headquarters.
