Delegation of BRICS countries met CM Nitish Kumar in Patna

PATNA: A delegation of BRICS countries met chief minister Nitish Kumar in Patna on Monday. CM Kumar talked to hem about the functioning of BRICS and mutual cooperation among the countries associated with it.

The delegation is present in Patna to participate in the BRICS Policy Planning Dialogue hosted by the MEA on Tuesday. The discussions shall take forward the policy Planning Talks initiated under the chairmanship of Russia in 2015 in line with this year’s theme of “Building Responsive, Inclusive and Collective Solutions”.

During his meeting with the delegation, CM Kumar wanted to know about BRICS bank. The delegation told him that it would soon become functional. CM Kumar also informed them about Bihar’s growth rate which has remained in two digits in the last one decade.

Apart from Santosh Jha, who is joint secretary (Policy, Planning and Research, MEA) and Regional Passport Officer (Patna) Shatrughna Sinha, the foreign delegation included Michel Arslanian, Neto ( Deputy head of Policy Planning of Brazil), Oleg Stepanov (Head of policy Planning, Russia), Wang Wenbin (Acting DG Policy Planning, China) and David Malcolmson (Chief Director Regional Organization, South Africa).
