Dehradun-based FRI organises training workshop for officers of Indian Forest Service

Resource Survey & Management Division of Forest Research Institute, Dehradun are coordinators of the workshop, according to a press release.

NEW DELHI: Two-day training workshop on “Forest Transition in India & Emerging issues in Indian Forestry”, sponsored by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change for the officers of Indian Forest Services, began at Dehradun-based Forest Research Institute ( FRI) on Thursday.

Delivering inaugural speech at the workshop, Dr Savita, director, FRI, highlighted various causes of deforestation and forest degradation. She gave special emphasis on forest policy and efforts undertaken in India for sustainable management of forests.
