Defer Ram Temple ceremony till end of Chaturmaas: Digvijaya Singh to PM Modi
Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to defer the ground-breaking ceremony of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya by arguing August 5 was inauspicious as per Hindu belief and calendar.

In a series of tweets on Monday Singh said Hindu seer Jagadguru Swami Swaroopanandji Maharaj had warned about the ‘muhurat’ chosen for laying the foundation of Lord Ram's temple. “This ominous muhurat was decided for the convenience of Modiji. Is Modiji bigger than the established beliefs of Hinduism for thousands of years? Is this Hindutva,” Singh asked.
Singh, a staunch critic of BJP-RSS and Hindutva politics and a practising Hindu who undertook the rigorous Narmada Parikrama, said: “Modiji postpone the ground-breaking ceremony of the Ram temple scheduled for August 5.”
