KANPUR: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today visited the native village of Naib Subedar Anmol Pratap Singh and paid floral tributes to the soldier, who was among the four army personnel killed in an avalanche last week in Chang La pass in Ladakh.

Parrikar met Singh's family in Kanpur's Naubasta and assured them that the government would provide them every assistance needed.

He said the government would ensure that employment was provided to the widow of the slain soldier and Singh's younger brother, also a defence personnel, was transferred to Kanpur.

Four Army personnel were killed as their vehicle got buried under a huge avalanche in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir on April 5.
