Defence minister inaugurates Halcon air cargo complex

Defence Minister AK Antony has inaugurated the Halcon Air Cargo Complex and Inland Container Depot at Nashik that will open opportunities for agricultural exports and also boost exim trade.

NASHIK: Defence Minister AK Antony has inaugurated the Halcon Air Cargo Complex and Inland Container Depot at Nashik that will open opportunities for agricultural exports and also boost exim trade. Halcon is a joint venture between Hindustan Aeronautics and the Container Corporation of India.

Agricultural and Processed Foods Export Development Authority has built a common user packhouse and quality control laboratory near the complex.

The facility, built over 1,350 sq meters at Janori in Nashik will cater to the agricultural cargo, in terms of cleaning, sorting, packaging and transporting as well.

���The vision of the project is to take agricultural products to all corners of our nation and to the world,��� said Mr Antony. ���I���m sure Nashik will motivate other similar agricultural and industrial hubs of our nation to follow its example.���
