Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's mantra of integral humanism and vision of serving the poor continues to inspire people.

Rupani was speaking here after paying rich tributes to the Hindutva icon on his death anniversary yesterday.

"Upadhyay's contribution to the history of India is written in golden letters, and his mantra of integral humanism and message of serving the very last person in the queue continues to inspire us," the chief minister said.

On the occasion, Rupani dedicated development works worth Rs 97.7 crore to the city.

He also inaugurated a model air-conditioned town hall, constructed by the BJP-ruled Vadodara Municipal Corporation on the city's outskirts.

Vadodara Municipal Commissioner Vinod Rao said the town hall has been set up at a cost of Rs 29.93 crore on a plot of 10,800 sq metres.
