Decision on Janardhan Dwivedi's fate still pending before top leadership: AICC

NEW DELHI: Making it clear that Janardan Dwivedi’s denial of his controversial remarks on Modi have not succeeded in closing the chapter, the AICC on Friday said a decision on his fate is still pending before the top leadership.

This comes amidst indication that the leadership has already decided to remove him as the General Secretary and are only discussing whether to remove him right in the middle of Delhi polls or tactfully eject him later in a reshuffle of AICC secretariat.

Some personal well-wishers of Dwivedi are also floating the idea of he offering resignation to party president.

“The issue is before the top leadership and you will be informed of whatever the decision is,” AICC General Secretary Ajay Maken said on Friday.

Maken also dismissed P C Chacko’s comments on Thursday “the issue was closed” after Dwivedi’s clarifications.

“Chacko may not be fully aware. The issue is still with the top leadership,” said Maken. Chacko’s abrupt comments made some people in AICC suggest he was ‘prompted to make it by some interested parties.
