Capital procurement for defence were currently being progressed as per the current LTIPP (2012-27) and AAP (2014-16), he said.

"Government constantly reviews the security scenario and accordingly decides to induct defence equipment including arms and ammunition. This is a continuous process undertaken through procurement from various indigenous as well as foreign vendors to keep armed forces in a state of readiness," Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said in a written reply.
Parrikar said that the acquisition of weapons and equipment for defence forces is carried out as per the Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP), and as per the Long-term Integrated Perspective Plan (LTIPP), Service Capital Acquisition Plan (SCAP) and Annual Acquisition Plan ( AAP).

Responding to another question, the Minister said that as per the revised estimates, the budget allocation on Capital Acquisition for defence forces during the 2013-14 was Rs 66,406.41 crore.
