KOLKATA: The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday directed the city police commissioner to decide within 24 hours an application seeking permission for RSS rally on January 14 to be addressed by its chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Sardul Singh Jain, a Sangh pracharak, moved the high court on Wednesdayon behalf of RSS, claiming that police authorities had not yet acted on their application that was submitted on December 29.

The petitioner sought a direction to Kolkata Police to give permission for holding the rally at Bhukailash Road in Kidderpore area in south-western part of the city on January 14.
