Death toll in Karnataka rains mounts to 178

BANGALORE: With the recovery of 10 more bodies, the toll in the rain havoc in northern and coastal regions of Karnataka has gone up to 178.

The bodies were recovered late last evening from the districts of Bellary, Uttara Kannada, Raichur, Dharwad, Koppal and Gadag among others, officials said.

Rains have subsided in the region since yesterday.
